Heya, peeps, quick announcement here. Three days from now, on the twenty-third of this month, the forums will be down for maintenance. We don't have an estimated amount of time for how long this maintenance will last, but it should hopefully increase forum loading speed and optimize things on the back end.
On an unrelated note, our estimated date for updating the server to 1.0 is the twenty-ninth of this month, nine days from now. This is seven days after the release of 1.0, and should hopefully give us plenty of time to learn about any game-breaking issues with the next update and prepare or delay as needed, should any game-breaking issues exist. That being said, this update day is not set in stone, and the date is still subject to change if necessary.
That should be all for now, folks, just gonna keep this short and simple. If anyone has any questions about either matter, feel free to post them and we'll do our best to answer.
Regarding the 1.0 Update, the Staff Team has finally come to a decision. Since a large portion of you wished to remain on our current version, we will be delaying the Update by a minimum of one week. This is to check for any game-breaking bugs and to ensure our Planet-Chat Server Plugin is compatible with the 1.0 Server. The extra week should allow you to wrap up any major Roleplay that is necessary within a reasonable time. A second announcement will be released later on regarding further information, if needed.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, when this change was made, there were already a lot of these characters in circulation. It didn't seem fair to disallow their use at the time, and people were simply told to apply for new characters only. After a while, though, this system highlighted a different problem. How could we tell who is an old character and who is new and needs approval?
In response to this, from this moment onward any character (pre-existing or new) that is anything except a vanilla race needs to submit an application. Any characters currently being played will be allowed to continue without approval until the 19th, which should give plenty of time (at least a full day) to write and submit an...
